An elite athlete since childhood, Sonia competes weekly across the GCC and internationally. She also advocates holistic wellness, integrating mindfulness, meditation, and mental resilience with athletic training to empower performance and wellbeing.

As founder of Global Race Connect, she brings Race Organizers and runners together worldwide.

NANCY BACHMANN

Nancy leads international collaboration and long-term vision.

With a Master’s degree in Business and a background as a corporate manager for Mercedes-Benz, Nancy combines strategic insight with a deep commitment to purpose-driven work.

As an entrepreneur with years of experience across media, wellness, and global event production, she brings a unique ability to connect ideas, people, and places.

She serves as President of the Congo River Marathon Foundation, a movement rooted in the heart of Africa that unites communities through running, and plays a leading role in shaping Congo River Marathon Events.

Nancy is also the Co-Creator of Los Angeles Cold Press, a holistic wellness brand, and the founder of Motherland Escapes, where she curates bespoke global travel experiences.

Her work bridges wellbeing, culture, and global connection - all in service of a more elevated, inclusive, and conscious world.

BERNARD MUNGAI

Bernard Mungai is a distinguished elite runner, coach, and now the Chief Operational Officer (COO) of our organization.

Born and raised in the highlands of Kenya, Bernard brings unmatched dedication, experience, and leadership to every aspect of our operations. With an impressive background in both short- and long-distance running, Bernard has consistently delivered outstanding performances on the international stage. His success as an athlete is matched by his passion for coaching, where he fuses personal experience with expert knowledge in training methodologies, athlete development. As COO, Bernard oversees the strategic and day-to-day execution of our sports and athlete development programs, ensuring excellence, discipline, and innovation across all initiatives.

His commitment to fostering resilience, community, and high-performance culture is at the heart of his leadership.

ROLLY KAYUMBA

Rolly Kitambala Kayumba is a Congolese Entrepreneur, Software Engineer and Founder of Congo River Marathon, the biggest annual sports event in Central Africa, where people from all around the world gather as one community, dedicated of making running a collective experience and creating a more health-conscious society. With the purpose to pay it forward and advance social upliftment in the fields of education, health and environment in the DR Congo.
